Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA) Committee

The Alternative Work Arrangements (AWA) Committee is a joint union/management committee tasked with overseeing the compressed work week, telecommuting and flexible work hours programs.

The AWA Committee’s mandate will include providing a forum for discussion and direction around all three types of alternative work arrangement programs at the WCB.  The Committee will be responsible for the general framework of these programs, including regular review of all documents such as the Question and Answer documents for each program found below.  It will also play a role in communication to the organization on issues related to these programs as they arise.  Finally, the Committee will also be the first step in the appeal process for each of these programs.

Flexible Work Hours

The Flexible Work Hours (FWH) program allows staff to request work hours that are earlier or later than their current schedule.

Compressed Work Week

As an employee of the WCB, you may be eligible for our Compressed Work Week program.

This program entitles participating employees to an earned day off (EDO) every pay period in exchange for their working 35 additional minutes per day.
